Root Canal Treatment Alternatives (gringo star)

Some children and even adults are anxious in thoughts of visiting a dentist especially when it has something to do with teeth extraction or worse - root canal treatment in Singapore. Cavities and subsequent cracks on your teeth can expose the pulp and thereby cause nerve pain and be prone to infection which then precipitates the need for a root canal treatment. Modern technology and medicine nowadays have made all forms of remedies available for people experiencing dental problems. Root canal treatment is actually the best solution for saving a tooth. However, if the patient is uncomfortable or uncertain with the procedure then alternative treatments can be explored with an endodontist.

Here are some alternative treatments to consider aside from root canal treatment:

* Pulp Capping - This is a popular alternative that most people opt to use for certain dental problems. This involves cleaning around the area of the exposed nerve by removing the infected and decayed areas and sterilizing it to prevent any bleeding and subsequently sealing it with a liquid plastic which is made of calcium hydroxide. This is effective but is only applicable to nerves that are still alive and is still capable of repairing itself.
* Tooth Extraction - This is the most preferred alternative because it is quicker and less costly than root canal treatment in Singapore. This is however considered as the last resort because it involves complete extraction or pulling off the teeth. It has it disadvantages though because an artificial tooth will not replace the real natural tooth. Dentures are also expensive. You will also have to adjust on your diet to avoid certain food because of certain texture or temperature.

* Endodontic Surgery - This is also referred to as apicoectomy endodontic surgical procedure whereby the root tip of the tooth is removed and a root end cavity is prepared and filled with a biocompatible material. This is most often performed when there is a failed root canal treatment.
* Diet - There are certain dietary requirements that must be followed strictly to help heal the infection in the root canal. Raw milk, meat, fish, and yellow butter are some of the proven helpful foods in treating infection. Certain foods with flour and white sugar must otherwise be avoided.
* Plantain Poultice - This is a type of weed which is generally found anywhere that can get rid of the harmful toxins found in the body. This is a herbal remedy which is placed in the affected tooth to alleviate any infection.

There are indeed many options that could be considered for certain dental predicaments aside from root canal treatment. However, if you feel that there is some uncertainty on your dental care provider, then you can always seek for a second opinion. Moreover, there are new researches revolving around the potential treatments that are minimally invasive such as advanced dental procedures like ultrasonic handheld devices or pulsed plasma dental probe; to name a few.
